FREEDOM_HEART_FEST_A3_190509

Here at studiodm we’re always up for a good time and so when one of our clients mentioned they were organising a summer festival and asked if we could help them out with marketing the event, we couldn’t resist!… especially when there was talk of great local beer and a Packington Pork hog roast!

It all takes place just up the road from our offices on 31st July and 1st August. We’re aiming to be there singing, drinking, dancing and eating (no photos on websites please!).

Your excuse to go is that 100% profit will be split between two charities and a few  details are below.

Saturday day time is FREE and open to all. The weekend hosts events for all ages throughout the day, Rainbow Children’s area, open-mic music, market stalls, Freedom Lager Beer Tent, and an array of tasty food (including Packington Pork hog roast!). Enter a team to enter into the team events: tug-of-war, 5-aside football, welly-wanging, It’s a Knock Out! and why not show off your talents in “Barton’s Got Talent” (we can’t promise to have Simon Cowell to judge!).

Friday and Saturday night are ticketed (1 x £10 ticket gains entry for both nights, £2.50 for children under 14). Friday is the warm up (BBQ, tunes etc), followed by the big music night on Saturday night with an auction including prizes such as 2 Virgin return flights to South Africa and a supply of Freedom lager for every day of the year!

Food will be available on both evenings, there’ll be live music, drinking, dancing and the option to camp over when you’ve partied out!

See www.freedomheartfest.org or buy your tickets online at www.freedomlager.com/shopfront.asp

See you there for a great party!

MOHS change to a heart – thanks to us

Posted June 1st, 2009 by Dom McGrail

Midlands Occupational Health Service (MOHS) has been in business for over 45 years and was established to help small and medium sized local businesses get access to the same quality medical services that the larger companies were enjoying.

Back in the 60’s when MOHS first opened their doors, customers were manufacturers and the MOHS doctor’s and nurses looked after tens of thousands of factory workers. Today’s corporate and commercial landscape has changed dramatically. As the manufacturing sector grew ever-more sophisticated or declined, newer and more modern business practices were adopted, the rise of the office worker, the professional sector and call centres has seen a seismic change to the type of client and style of service MOHS now deliver.

MOHS Web Site

www.mohs.co.uk

And it was these changes over the pre-ceeding decades that persuaded the management team at MOHS that they also needed to change. They needed a new brand that spoke to their new audience, that reflected the aims and ambitions of the business and reinforced their core value ; care.

We designed a new brand that takes the ‘care’ to the very heart of the business – quite literally placing it in the centre of the word.

Gone is the reference to Midlands as the business now operates nationally.

Gone is the use of Occupational Health in the title – because it’s just not relevant to today’s office based economy.

And in its place? A simple, plain english explanantion of the companies services – workplace health limited.

Proven quality – ISO style

Posted May 8th, 2009 by Dom McGrail

Early April was an important time for us here, because we had our ISO quality assessment by CCAS. We’re happy to confirm we’ve passed with flying colours … again.

studiodm ISO Accreditation

“Despite the irresistible effects of the current economic recession, the quality system of studiodm has been quite well maintained. It was noted that since the last CCAS visit, the content of audit reports, management reviews & KPI`s are once again of high quality”

Everyone here really values our quality accreditation because not only does it shape our business processes and deliver our projects on time, but it also helps keep our customers happy.

James Gibbons Format – new website goes live

We have just completed the website development for architectural ironmongery experts James Gibbons Format, based in Birmingham.

The site is very easy-to-use contains lots of dynamic sections, including an on-line catalogue of their products where specifiers can create a ’specification’ list for their projects. With large sections of the site being admin controlled, JGF can update and maintain the website themselves.

We’ll save you money off your marketing budget!

Posted April 20th, 2009 by Dom McGrail

Budgets versus Actual costs

With today’s technology we really shouldn’t be relying on ‘fingers in the air’ or ‘guesstimates’ .. so at studiodm we don’t!!

Estimating how much work might be involved in successfully delivering projects is not always easy. If we’re too high when setting our price, our quote will look uncompetitive but if we’re too low, we can end up losing money.

Neither is ideal

We think budgets are an old fashioned way to work, cumbersome and not accurate enough. So here’s what’s different when you work with us.

We only EVER charge you for what we do.

Yes we start all projects with a budget figure so we are all agreed on what the maximum expenditure will be. And yes, we strive to make sure these budgets are as accurate as possible. This ability to accurately estimate stems from years worth of data captured from similar projects.

And this capture of all the time we expend on projects also allows us to provide accurate final bills to our clients – not rounded up estimates.

So here’s our three point promise;

We’ll agree a budget with you – which we won’t exceed.

The budget is set in stone unless the brief changes

And when the job is finished you’ll only pay for the work we’ve done.

We’ve been chosen by the Horniman Museum www.horniman.ac.uk in London to provide a digital signage solution for visitors to the museum.

We will be installing Scala Infochannel 5 www.scala.com and providing graphic templates for the screens, as well as training the users so the museum can manage their own content and provide up-to-date messages and information.

The completed installation is likely to be in the summer, so more to follow…

Medium Rare – Bringing home the bacon

Posted March 26th, 2009 by Simon Asbury

mediumrare_labels

Medium Rare have recently added free range bacon to their product list and they asked us to design and supply self adhesive packaging labels. We kept it simple, strong and ultimately, classy using black from their branding, and adding a fantastic photo taken on the Packington Pork farm.

George from Medium Rare, has other products in the pipeline, but the bacon is the first to market and is sure to be a success.

We’re looking forward to the taste test… especially fitting as a new studiodm ritual seems to be bacon and egg sarnies on a Friday morning! Yum yum pigs bum!

Medium Rare move up a gear!

Posted March 26th, 2009 by Simon Asbury

Last year George Finch came to us to design the livery for his delivery vans.

mediumrare_vanThey already had the usual logo and contact details but needed more…  due to the extensive mileage covered, supplying their growing customer base, the vans are a great way to advertise their high quality free range meat products.  By incorporating logos, a list of products, a ‘free range meats’ strapline and the all important

contact details, the vans will not be missed… especially with the photos of the farmers with their animal livestock.  These photos set the perfect eye catching scene with one side of the van displaying Packington Poultry and the other side, Packington Pork.

mediumrare_van2When George from Medium Rare and his colleague Alec from Packington Poultry collected the completed van they were very, very impressed.  Photos were taken and added to his recent website restyle and have been incorporated into his latest newsletter.  In an email George wrote, “The van looks really smart, a massive improvement on the current vans.”

There are further vans to complete this year and they may feature some of the impressive photos, shot on an atmospheric misty dawn, of the other farms.  We look forward to seeing the whole fleet completed.
