Extra Personnel – Responsive Website Design & Build
We recently completed a web design project for a new responsive website for Extra Personnel, one of the largest recruitment agencies located in the West Midlands. After the initial brainstorming and research stage, we started work creating a wire-frame structure and then a series of prototype designs using InVision an online prototype and sharing tool. It’s always important for us to consider a user’s journey through a website and using a prototype tool like InVision helps us achieve this more readily, because we are visually mapping the pages and interactions. It also helps us ensure that all the pages were relevant and easily identifiable and that the content was appropriate for the audience.
As with all our web projects we started the design process from a ‘mobile-first’ approach. The site needs to deliver a great visitor experience across all devices, not just in providing information about the business and its various divisions but also in allowing users to search and apply for jobs.
The website includes a CMS system allowing the client to easily and quickly update the pages with new content and the latest jobs are fed directly into the site using Broadbean; a job distribution and multi-posting technology.
A video was produced by our sister company (studiodm.tv) and added onto the homepage. Getting the user’s attention early on can be crucial to the success of any site.
After a successful launch.
After various web design stages, prototyping, development and testing, the site was pushed live and we’ve had really positive feedback since. This showcases the importance of the user experience and the user interface design when working with a large scale website. It’s vital to understand how important the user’s journey is and how critical it is to ensure it is easy and intuitive to interact with the website and its functions.
